Our rooms
Our rooms evoke the timeless charm of the Belle Époque, with a vintage style that combines elegance and comfort. The lakefront rooms all have private balconies from which to admire breathtaking views of the lake, mountains and city.
Rooms facing the mountain or with partial lake view do not have balconies, but don't worry: the panoramic terrace of our restaurant and bar will know how to give you relaxing moments and a privileged view of the landscape.
The story of the Colibrì Hotel in Aldesago
The hotel officially opened in 1965, but the establishment had already been a guesthouse with a restaurant since 1886. Initially, their well-equipped facility had only two floors and a cozy restaurant, where guests could enjoy local cuisine and play bocce ball.
The Demarchi-Zeppi family dedicated much of their lives to Lugano Mountain, located in the charming village of Aldesago. Over the years, and thanks to a constant and tireless commitment, they worked hard to expand and improve their business, gradually transforming it into a true landmark for visitors to the area, who return each year to enjoy the Hummingbird experience.
Nick Meili and his team currently run the business. In 2024, Nick Meili earned theFederal Professional Certificate of Hotelier,crowning a journey that began more than a decade ago as an employee within the family business. He is deeply proud of his team, composed of professionals with skills out of the ordinary.
The dedication and passion of the director and team is reflected not only in their hospitality, but also in their attention to detail and the quality of their services.
